The Doghouse Songwriters Club
Monthly in-person songwriting lessons and co-writing in Toronto’s west-end Doghouse Studios
The Doghouse Songwriters Club is a monthly in-person songwriting workshop for writers of all experience levels. Each session combines practical instruction with two guided co-writing sessions, giving you the chance to learn new techniques, meet other songwriters, and create new material in a supportive environment.
Whether you are writing your first song or have years of experience, the club offers a welcoming space to strengthen your craft and keep writing regularly.
What to Expect
Each monthly session includes:
- A practical songwriting lesson from Murray Foster, formerly of Great Big Sea and Moxy Fruvous
- Two collaborative co-writing sessions
- New writing partners and creative prompts
- A supportive, low-pressure environment
- Time to experiment with new approaches and ideas
Who Is It For?
The Doghouse Songwriters Club is open to songwriters of all skill levels.
You do not need professional experience, formal music training, or a catalogue of finished songs. You simply need an interest in songwriting and a willingness to collaborate.
Experienced writers can use the sessions to explore new approaches and meet potential co-writers, while newer songwriters will gain practical experience creating songs alongside others.
